Checklist
1) Files and formats
☐ Main text in DOCX format (editable).
☐ Preview version in PDF.
☐ Tables in editable form (not as images).
☐ Figures/photos as separate files (print-quality).
☐ Unambiguous file names (e.g., “LastName_Title_text.docx,” “Fig1.tif/jpg”).
2) Book structure (minimum)
☐ Title page (authors, affiliations).
☐ Table of contents.
☐ Introduction/assumptions, chapters, conclusion.
☐ In edited volumes: list of chapter authors + chapter titles + ORCID + affiliations.
☐ Bibliography.
☐ (If applicable) appendices, list of tables/figures, indexes.
3) References and bibliography
☐ Consistent citation and bibliography style throughout the publication.
☐ Complete bibliographic data; where possible: DOI/ISBN/URL.
☐ Consistent references in the text and bibliography (no “orphaned” entries).
4) Tables, figures, illustrations
☐ All graphic elements are numbered and captioned.
☐ Sources cited for each element (if not original).
☐ Rights/licenses for use have been obtained and are documented.
☐ (If applicable) a separate list of figures/tables (optional).
5) Copyright and Liability
☐ The author confirms the originality of the text and that it does not infringe on the rights of third parties.
☐ Co-authors are listed according to their actual contributions (no ghostwriting or guest authorship).
☐ Funding and potential conflicts of interest are disclosed (if applicable).
6) Digital Accessibility
☐ The materials allow for the creation of accessible versions (e.g., alternative descriptions for graphics, readable tables).
7) Use of AI
☐ If AI tools were used: the use complies with the policy and has been disclosed as required.
