Accessibility issues can be reported to: dostepnosc@uksw.edu.pl.
Accessibility Statement
UKSW Scientific Publishing House undertakes to ensure the digital accessibility of its journal platform in accordance with the Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public bodies (as amended on 9 March 2023).
This declaration applies to publications issued by the UKSW Academic Publishing House and available on the Publishing House’s website: https://wydawnictwo.uksw.edu.pl/ (including subpages for individual titles and published documents). This declaration does not apply to the websites of journals from other publishers that are hosted on the UKSW journals platform – in such cases, the declarations and contact details provided by the relevant publishers apply.
Status of digital accessibility
The Publishing House is working intensively to ensure full compliance with the requirements of the Digital Accessibility Act. At this stage, we declare partial compliance with the annex to the Act.
The requirements of the annex are deemed to be met, taking into account the requirements set out in points 9, 10 and 11 of the Polish Standard implementing ETSI EN 301 549 V3.2.1:2021.
Inaccessible content
Non-compliance with accessibility requirements
Despite the measures taken, some content may be inaccessible in the following areas:
- PDF documents (particularly archived ones): some files may lack a complete structure/tagging (e.g. headings, lists, tables) or may have an incorrect reading order for assistive technologies.
- Graphical elements in publications (charts, diagrams, illustrations): some files may not contain complete alternative text (alt text) embedded within the published document.
- Tables in documents: in some publications, tables may have an overly complex structure (e.g. merged cells) that makes them difficult for screen readers to read.
- Links and hyperlinks in the content: occasionally, links may appear with non-descriptive text or insufficiently clear context.
If you encounter an accessibility issue with a specific publication or element of the UKSW journals platform, please contact us as outlined in the ‘Feedback and contact details’ section; we will ensure accessibility or make the content available in an alternative format in accordance with the Act.
Content exempt from the obligation to ensure accessibility
In accordance with the Digital Accessibility Act, the obligation to ensure accessibility does not apply, in particular, to:
- live-streamed media,
- media published before 23 September 2020,
- office documents published before 23 September 2018, unless their content is essential for the performance of current tasks,
- content held by a public body which was not produced/funded/acquired by it, or the adaptation of which requires modifications that the body is not authorised to make,
- maps and interactive maps (subject to the obligation to provide contact details and location information in an accessible manner).

Handling of requests and complaints regarding accessibility
You can notify us of any lack of digital accessibility of a website element using the contact details provided in the declaration.
Everyone has the right to request that a specific webpage, mobile application or element thereof (including a document) be made digitally accessible, or that it be made available via an alternative means of access.
The request should include contact details, a description of the element and the preferred method of contact.
We will respond without undue delay, within 7 days at the latest; if this is not possible, we will explain the reasons for the delay and provide a deadline of no more than 2 months.
In cases where ensuring the accessibility of the specified element requires technical work, we set the deadline for compliance on a case-by-case basis and inform the user of the reasons for the delay and the planned date for ensuring accessibility. Until the non-compliance is rectified, we provide an alternative means of access to the content in accordance with Article 7 of the Act.
In the event of a refusal to ensure accessibility or a refusal to use an alternative means of access, a complaint may be lodged; Section VIII of the Code of Administrative Procedure applies to such proceedings.
