Below are the terms and conditions for purchases from the Publisher’s bookshop, covering the rules for placing orders, payments, delivery, returns and complaints.
Terms and Conditions (effective from 1 January 2023)
The bookshop of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (hereinafter referred to as the Bookshop) sells books both in-store and by mail order (remotely).
Ordering books
Orders may be placed:
- electronically (in accordance with the Act of 16 July 2004 – the Telecommunications Act)
- via the Bookshop’s website: www.ksiegarnia.uksw.edu.pl
- by email: wydawnictwo@uksw.edu.pl,
- by post to the address of UKSW Publishing House (ul. Dewajtis 5, former monk’s house no. 2, 01-815 Warsaw).
Conditions for order fulfilment:
- availability of the title in question in the Bookshop’s catalogue,
- correct completion of the address form – when placing an order via the Bookshop’s website; in all other cases, the order will be processed provided the customer supplies the correct address details.
- Personal data provided by the customer is processed solely for the purpose of fulfilling the order, in accordance with the GDPR.
Contract with the customer
Once an order has been placed via the website, the customer receives an email confirming the order. At that point, the contract between the customer and the Bookshop is deemed to have been concluded. In accordance with the applicable provisions of the GDPR, by placing an order, the customer acknowledges that they have read the terms and conditions regarding the processing of personal data available HERE.
After logging in, they may continue shopping or check the current status of their order and their order history. In all other cases, the contract is concluded within two working days of the order being placed. This is the period during which the customer may be informed of the availability of the title in question. If the Bookshop does not provide feedback within this time, it is assumed that the title is available and the contract is automatically concluded.
The customer may change or cancel an order (via email or telephone) only until the order has been dispatched.
If some of the items in the order are unavailable, the customer will be informed so that they can decide how to proceed with the order. This situation may result in a longer order processing time.
Delivery and payment methods
Delivery
Orders are dispatched within 2 to 10 working days from the date the payment is received in our account.
Within Poland, parcels are handled by Poczta Polska or Kurier (delivery man). Shipping costs are borne by the customer. These are calculated according to the price list provided on the website at the time of selecting the delivery option.
Deliveries outside Poland – interested customers will receive the relevant information when they contact the Bookshop.
Customers have the right to use the services of a courier company of their choice, provided they cover the cost themselves.
In the event of delays caused by the Bookshop, the customer will be informed of this by telephone or email.
The Bookshop is not liable for delays caused by the Polish Post Office.
Payment methods
A VAT invoice is issued for each order, detailing the books ordered and the delivery costs. All prices include VAT.
The price shown next to the item is valid at the time of ordering.
The Bookshop reserves the right to change prices if they have been published incorrectly.
The customer may pay for the ordered goods by bank transfer to the Bookshop’s account, by making a prepayment to the specified account number or (for institutional customers) by bank transfer based on the issued invoice.
Complaints and returns
Defective goods
If a customer receives a faulty item, they are entitled to make a complaint. The damaged item should be returned to the Bookshop at the customer’s expense. The Bookshop will respond to the complaint within 14 days of it being lodged. If the Bookshop considers the complaint to be valid, it undertakes to replace the goods with undamaged ones; if this is not possible, it will offer other available publications or refund the customer the value of the goods and the delivery costs incurred. The customer must enclose the VAT invoice with the parcel containing the book. If there is no document confirming the purchase of the goods from the Bookshop, the complaint will not be considered.
Return of purchased goods
The customer may return the goods without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving the parcel. The goods must not be damaged, destroyed or copied. The Bookshop will refund only the amount equal to the value of the purchased goods, to the specified bank account or address. The customer must enclose the VAT invoice and a completed return form with the parcel containing the book. If there is no document confirming the purchase of the goods in full from the Bookshop, a refund will not be possible.
Return of goods purchased online
In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act of 30 May 2014, customers have the right to request a return within 14 days of purchase using the return form available at: www.wydawnictwo.uksw.edu.pl, without giving any reason; they also have the right to return the goods within a further 14 days of making the request. Only undamaged, undiminished-value books may be returned.
Personal data is processed for the purposes of order fulfilment and after-sales service.
